District 9 (no spoilers please)

Just got back from an advance screening of District 9 and it was very good. The special effects and action sequences were great, especially for the low budget of $30 million. The alien weapons were awesome and you'll just have to see for yourself how cool they are. It's the sleeper hit of the summer movies. Check it out in the cinemas if you can, definately worth it!

Looks like a good story with some good effects as opposed to some of the other "nothing but special effects" movies like Transformers 2. Can't wait to see it at the theaters.

Entertainment Weekly did a cover story about this film in the current issue and they raved about it. This is a must see.

It definately has a worthy story backing up the effects and action. It's funny and emotional at times and also has a bit of a political underlying. Sharlto Copley who plays the main character is also very good, especially since this is his first film and he's not even really an actor.

I agree with AsOneDead. Awesome movie Just back back from a screening. Way way better than Transformers 2. Very original and fascinating. Great camera motions and special effects. Instant classic for me. I would definitely watch the movie again. I definitely saw Peter Jackson style in the movie also.

9.5/10
