My LCS had an unwrapped copy of that graphic novel on display - it is absolutely beautiful. I think it's cool that Aronofsky does this kind of thing. There was a graphic novel of
The Fountain that worked off of an early draft of his screenplay.
Along the same lines...
Dark Horse will soon collect
The Star Wars, a six-issue adaptation of Lucas' original story for Ep. IV.
IDW will adapt Harlan Ellison's original screenplay for
Star Trek: The City on The Edge of Forever. Now I've never bought into Ellison's BS regarding this episode, but I'll definitely pick it up.
It's certainly interesting to see what could have been.
