New info, from GG's blog

This is from GG's blog:

Later this week, we'll be updating our site with most of the "official" information from Toy Fair, though most of it has already been covered on a lot of press sites. It's been a very exciting show, and we're all looking forward to the rest of 2006 as much as many of you.

Some things have come up in the various forums and on this blog, so I thought I'd take a sec:

Star Wars Animated maquettes
It seems like most people like this line as much as I do! It's great to have the opportunity to do something a littel different that nobody has done before. The Darth Vader is still pretty rough, but we felt like it was good enough to let people see it. The bases will be similar to the Clone Wars maquettes so that the two collections can be displayed together (and the SWA will be in the same scale for the same reason). The Boba, Leia, and Vader are the first three - more to come (I hope)!

Clone Wars maquettes
We're taking a break from this line to do the SWA, but we have a lot of characters we'd still like to do, and a lot of ones that have been requested from our fans. Because SWA is so similar, we don't want people to have to choose between the two lines, but be able to collect them both, so we won't be doing them simultaneously. We'll probably wind up going back and forth or something.

Star Wars mini busts
There were neither red nor blue Royal Guard mini busts on display at Toy Fair. I have no idea where this rumor started, but since our showroom wasn't open to the press on the day this rumor got out, it was obviously started by someone who was sticking their nose where it didn't belong, trying to obtain advance information, and passing on incorrect information in an effort to "scoop" everyone else. My guess is that they saw the red Royal Guard statue and the blue "holographic" Qui-Gon mini bust from a distance.

Star Wars statues
Obi-Wan in Clone Trooper Armor isn't done yet - really rough. It's one of those items (along with the Mos Eisley Cantina bookends) that people were asked not to photograph from close-up because the current prototypes are nowhere near the level of quality we expect from ourselves. Unfortunately, not everyone respects our wishes, images get out, and our fans are the ones who are misled. We wanted to show it because we like it, though, so we were willing to take that risk.

Harry Potter mini busts
Glad everyone is digging on the Death Eaters - we thought they would rock in resin when we saw them in London. Hermione looks dead-on to us, and I hope to be able to show everyone Ron soon (he was supposed to be unveiled at the show, but he didn't quite make the trip. He is Ron, after all...

More to come in a web update later this week - including more info on Lord of the Rings, Dragonkind, Simpsons, and more!

Too bad about the red and blue royal guard busts! . Looks like there are gonna be plenty more animated maquettes to collect not only from the clone wars line but also the new line as well. So much for the small infinite collection on the clone wars maquettes .

Are they going to be doing LOTR busts or statues or something entirely different?

Yeah, that sounds interesting. Any Frodo GG does is guaranteed 100X more accurate than Sideshows.

I hope it's something new (maybe Dioramas !!!! ) because if it's a statue line, we already have Weta, Cinemaquette, Sideshow, Neca.... and I'm pretty satisfied with my Weta collection.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling the LOTR announcement will be Bust-Ups.
