1/20 is a strange choice considering the excellent sick triceratops diorama is 1/10. 1/20 for the brachiosaurus scene makes sense dude to the vertical size and it probably not being that popular (carnivores sell better).

However. I believe they went with 1/20 thinking they were going up against both Chronicle Collectibles and Prime 1’s version of the rotunda and decided that price > size. Of course, that was before Chronicle Collectibles up and left so they should have gone back and redone it as 1/10. Might have been far too late though.

It's not that great of a value, though. Since 1/10 Rex was $650 on its own, a 1/20 version should run for $400 tops. Add a couple raptors (1/10 versions were $120ish so 1/20 should be around $70) and four humans (1/10 were $90 so these ought to be $50 each) and this entire piece should cost no more than $750. That's with some leeway in the price divisions, too.

You could argue that the number of components makes this a more complex item and thus justifies a price greater than the sum of its parts, but I can't imagine people feeling good about dropping nearly $1K on a Jurassic Park piece that's 10" tall.

I meant compared to Chronicle Collectibles rotunda at $1350 and Prime 1’s at $1999. A 1/10th scale would have put them in the fighting ring up against two other companies that were probably very close to production and probably in the middle price-wise. I think it’s a pretty good price point compared to Chronicle and I think that’s who they were aiming to undercut.

Remember they made some of the figures from the Brachio diorama available as 1/10 one-offs, even thought the original was 1/20. MAYBE they do something similar with the t-rex in this one, but I'm not holding my breath. Such a bummer.

The prices for Statues are getting out of control. I Remember when getting a SS PF quarter scale was under $300..I get that they now are more detailed..but $900 for a 1/10 scale? This hobby is not what it once was..you have to be very picky on what you get.

They had a lot of problems with the 1/10 Rex breakout diorama and a lot of people were not happy about the high price. I can totally see why they opted to go smaller this time. If this piece was done in 1/10 it would cost a fortune plus high shipping costs ...and everyone would be complaining about that. Either way, they can't win
