If you're just reading, the Kindle is far superior. If you're doing a variety of things, yeah, iPad is a good idea.

Absolutely, but the big down side with the e-readers IMO is the lack of back lighting. Anyway, I prefer my technology to be of the convergent variety why not read a few chapters of your book, then play a couple of games of Angry Birds, and wind it all up with a quick post on Statueforum

Have used both, and this sums it up exactly. You can't go wrong with either, IMO.

I have both aswell, reading a book on the iPad is just as good as reading it on a computer. If your looking exclusively for books then definately kindle. Can't beat that monochromatic screen!

Then you are going to love the Kindle with it's eInk technology.

I bought my wife a nook for Christmas and she loves it - she is a ravenous reader and said it is much better than traditional books.

I've tried 'em but nothing beats turning pages. 'Course what to do with all the books when you're done?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

One thing with my Kindle is that at times, the text seems wonky on the screen, like its going on a slight angle. However, when I turn it on its side, it all seems properly aligned. I think its an optical illusion, but it does bug me at times.

well just finished my first book on my Kindle.. 1008 pages lol took my time 13 days. One thing I have now noticed that the books on kindle are sometimes more expensive than the paper backs which makes mo sense to me... but I guess not having to deal with waiting for a book to be mailed to me etc. On to the next book and many many more to come
