I would loved to see that one. The problem with guys like MATT are that I want to see him draw every character and I don't think my wallet can handle that. He does the Batman Universe as well as anyone (he told me he loves The Bat), but I've seen some of the Spidey's, Wolverines, and Hulks he's done and they are just phenomenal!!

Ok, the Big A is baller.

And the Asrar Harley is great. Not my fave costume, but it's really well done.

And since I've seen some amazing pieces by Mattina, I've gotta know, can you tell me what he is charging? And was that a con-style or at home pre-commish?

Thanks Lindsey. This was set up as an at-home commish but I know that MATT finished it at the con, not sure if he did the entire piece there or just put the finishing touches on at the con. Carlos can probably tell the whole story there.

These are the rates that his rep sent me when I ordered this piece:

COMMISSION FRANCESCO MATTINA (PRICES IN EUROS) PAPER ABOUT 11X17 INCH

1 CHARACTER B/W 220 WITH BACKGROUND 255
2CHARACTER B/W 320 WITH BACKGROUND 350
HEAD B/W 140
1 CHARACTER COLORED 255 WITH BACKGROUND 285
2 CHARACTERS COLORED 375 WITH BACKGROUND 440
HEAD COLORED 165
BLANK COVER B/W FULL FIGURE 140
BLANK COVER COLORED 150

I'm definitely going to try and hit him up for another piece as soon as the funds replenish.

he was pretty much just doing the finishing touches at the con. i think he likes to take his time on these pieces. for the batman piece it was basically done but he spent about an extra hour + doing finishing touches on it while i was there.

his con prices i think were $200 full for b&W no backgrounds.

one thing to keep in mind are shipping rates from europe - that will add maybe an extra $80 to the price. if you can do a con pick-up, its well worth the savings.

in either case, compared to the rates that others of his caliber are charging (ie dellotto), his prices are very attractive.

i will also hit him up after christmas.
