Anime Expo (AX)2010
Has anyone ever attended one of these? I've been to the SDCC, but never a Anime Expo, what can I expect? Is it as Crazy as the SDCC?

I went just to check it out and IMO it is not better than SDCC. I like the cosplay though not better than Ive seen at SDCC. Maybe I just dont know the characters. Overall, if you like asian women thisis the place to go. That I guarantee!

I've attended a ton of anime conventions and I'm going to be booth manager for Funimation (at both AX and SDCC), so I can answer whatever questions you have about them.
It's not nearly as busy as SDCC, simply because SDCC is the largest fandom gathering in the nation. Lots of people cosplaying, lots of panels and industry stuff if you're into anime. I actually don't remember if AX has a good artist's alley but it does have a solid dealer's room. Not as many western statues as you'd probably want though.

Yep, we always announce new stuff at AX, it's the biggest anime con in the country after all. I have no clue about the stuff we're premiering or any licences, I don't work with them in Texas, I just fly in for booth stuff since I knew the previous booth manager for a while.
Make sure to swing by the booth though, I'm sure we'll have some big promo stuff going on!

I read from some wedsites advising the attendees to take shower before going, and that's not just people making fun of them but an official announcement...
what can you expect?

If your a fan of anime like me then yes you will enjoy it as it's the biggest gathering of anime in my opinion. Plus lots of hot chicks.
