Checking in.

Ymir cast in blue tinted clear resin for a truly 'icy' feel!
(sorry, he's really hard to photograph properly)

Without lights:

With lights:

Displayed (yet unpainted) with his 'family'

Wow! That's amazing! I have to know ...have you dabbled in sculpting before this ...perhaps when you were younger?

Also, I love the Ymir sculpt in clear resin. But do you have plans on adding some paint apps to it? You added a lot of detail on it ...and as is its hard to see the details. Ymir is a frost giant, so perhaps some parts of his body is "frosted' and using some blue hues as shading? And maybe black highlights for the eyes to bring them out?

In any case, great job on the sculpts!

Way back in high school...some really rudimentary sculpting with soap bars

Yes, yes, yes and yes He's, at present, still unpainted

I finally finished my Ymir paint up

I wanted him dark and malevolent, but without losing the translucency of being an ice creature...

awesome paint up, so you can just paint directly onto the clear resin with no primer? ive seen people do something similar with intrinsic resin, I ask because I have a piece im going to be working on soon that im hoping I can just paint over with no primer

Thanks! You prime with something clear like Testors dullcote or clear acrylic varnish...
