He's one, of a number of directors that don't do them, they believe the films should speak for themselves.

I think he's right too for some films. You want to keep the magic and Indy is one of those. Aliens has one of the best commentary tracks but it also breaks down the magic a bit. James Cameron points out small flaws I never noticed. But I think he fixed them all in the Blu-ray edition.
