Seriously though. Saoirse is an excellent actress, and I think she'll do a bang up job with the part, she just doesn't physically look like Wanda Maximoff, IMHO...

Given the astronomical success of the first Avengers film, the rapidly growing production and cast expenses, and an aging Robert Downey Jr., I'm somewhat surprised there have never been any discussion of a back to back production for Avengers 2 and 3. It worked well for LOTR and Harry Potter.

It might happen. They only decided to make The hobbit into three movies half way through production.

Back to the Future 2 and 3 also did it. So did Superman 1 and 2, so did The Three Muskeetsers and The Four Musketeers.

I think that would be a brilliant idea! As would having Gladiator and the Imperial Guard in Avengers 3. Which is why they will probably never do it.

Joss Whedon Talks Lack of Female Superheroes and Robert Downey Jr. in AVENGERS 2 | Collider
There is enough confirmation that RDJ is back for Avengers 2, but the same isn't true for the next Iron Man films which likely won't happen for another 4 years or so, which I am fine with even though I enjoyed Iron Man 3.
Whedon for years has been writing strong and compelling female characters and thanks to him we will likely see that continue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It's a pity WB wouldn't let him finish the WW movie.
