Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

You say that, but although it'd satisfy the geek in you, it'd be a little cringworthy for the mman getting married in you.

From our arrangements this wedding stuff is a close call between stuff you think will be appropriate and stuff in your heart of hearts you know isn't the right fell for a wedding.

Like I know you're not wearing a tie or anything, but I'll be in full morning suit, Prince Edward coat and a Ruche tie...its a tradition thing that I didn't feel I could break...there are a lot of touches we can put in to make it unmistakably OUR wedding, but there are some lines even the most anti wedding people won't cross.

Having the 90s cartoon X-Men theme as a first dance might just be on that list

Being her day...my wife made a lot of decisions...but I got to pick the entrance music we walked into the reception with for our official introduction.

nobody knew what it was but a handful of people...and it fit the moment.

the theme sone to the 90's X-Men cartoon would do the same. Nobody that is not "in the know" would have a clue what it is,,,but it is music that is appropriate for the moment.

My wife and I got married while I was still in grad school so needless to say, I didn't have a lot of money. Her parents paid for the wedding and my parents paid for the booze at the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. When we were ordering the invitations, my wife was on the phone with her mother, I heard her mother say that she didn't want my parents names on the invitations since they were not paying as much as they were. Needless to say I was not amused. To this day, she still does not know that we ordered two sets of invitations. One for my wife's side without my parents name and one to my side with my parents name.

Were the flowers in the wedding my wife's favorite? Heck no! They were my mother-in-law's favorite.

My wife and I knew about 30-35% of the people at our wedding. The rest were friends on my in-laws that neither of us had ever met.

I could give you a ton of mother-in-law stories post wedding.
You have got to be kidding? I'm sorry but she sounds like a bi$%^

Our wedding was at a Tuscan villa bed & breakfast at a vineyard in California; gorgeous ceremony, fun reception, yadda yadda...

... though myself, my two Best Men (had 5 groomsmen, but couldn't decide between two guys for a Best Man, so I had two.. ), and the Reverend got locked in a small "staging room" with an automatic light that turned itself off RIGHT when the string quartet we hired started playing the "opening music". The switch was outside the room, out of reach, and the music and 200+ people milling around was drowning out the pounding somewhat.

I was freaking out. My Best Men pounded on the door until someone heard and let us out.

Gah.. great day; lots of memories. Congratulations to everyone who was.. and who is.. married as of this year.
