As far as pics.. It gets harder and harder to take them myself each year. Chris used to be my "handler" but now that he is getting more and more into costuming, so he has less time to devote to that sort of stuff..
My best friend Em can't make it (2nd best handler EVER!) to SDCC.
And Andy now can't make it down.. He was my handler last year..

So we will do the best we can!
Are you guys going Thursday? I could arrange a photo shoot so that you can have pictures for yourselves.

I'll be at SDCC covering it for two online magazines this year, and I'll be taking some shots of Mir and Chris both (among other costumed folk). I'll be sure to post the pics here, too, once the madness of SDCC is over. I'll link to the articles, too.

Me and my son don't do cons, but hope the Burns have a great time there. I have a suggestion, though, maybe you can contact one of the resident creative photogs like PIX4R and see if you can arrange a shoot. I'm not sure who does fashion (different discipline than shooting statues/still life), but maybe someone from the forum has a good portfolio. If you're putting all the work into the costumes you should get some quality pics. I'm sure there won't be a shortage of camera phone snaps floating around.

edit: looks like that's been suggested. Still recommend checking out portfolios. I've been a creative director/marketing director for many years. You want to look at portfolios to check out lighting, composition, etc. Factoring in wardrobe change and styling each look will probably take an hour or so to get right do your favorite looks first. Good luck.
