Okay, I've just added the GH Year One omnibus to my upcoming trade order, as well as Mark Waid's GH.

Uslan is writing? Isn't he the producer of most all the Batman films going back to Burton? Anyone read his comic book writing?

That's him. I don't think I've read any of his comic work.
You can see his CV here: http://theuslancompany.com/about.html
He has been involved with a lot of great projects, including an upcoming Doc Savage film.
Wikipedia also mentions these:
Uslan attempted his first comic writing in 1975 at DC Comics' version of The Shadow (on which he is planning [9] a feature film [10] with Sam Raimi) and publishing competitor Charlton Comics' Charlton Bullseye. He wrote some Batman comics before moving on to motion pictures.
He initiated [11] Stan Lee's Just Imagine... and contributed short stories with renowned artists like John Severin, Gene Colan and Richard Corben to it.
He wrote some The Spirit comics, even before producing the feature film.
With only some brief (foreword) writing and editing stints in between Uslan scripted the 2009 6-part story, Archie Marries Veronica.

All I read is the Lone Ranger and the Bionic Man/Six Million Dollar Man books currently. I agree with Joe Vol # 1 of The Lone Ranger was fantastic and Vol # 2 could never recapture that magic. I also tried Zorro and the Phantom but had to stop both . Once Lone Ranger # 25 is cancelled i'll be only getting 1 Dynamite book a month.

Where is the cancel news coming from? I liked The Shadow and The Spider. I'm behind a bit and need to catch up though.

These titles are already gone. I read it within the books themselves that they were canceling.
