Rise of Skywalker: 5/10 (average film). Some good stuff, some bad stuff, some REALLY bad stuff. Wasn't bored, but I'm not in any rush to see it again.

Tangerine (2015) - A hooker tears through Tinseltown on Christmas Eve searching for the pimp who broke her heart.
This has become a holiday staple in recent years for me because nothing says Christmas in L.A. like streetwalkers on the warpath. 8/10

Les parapluies de Cherbourg / The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) - A young woman separated from her lover by war faces a life-altering decision.
I watched this again because I've seen it promoted in some places as a Christmas film. Only maybe the last ten minutes actually take place during the holiday season, but nevertheless, it's one of my favorite musicals which can be viewed at any time of the year. 10/10

Batman Returns (1992) - Batman returns to the big screen when a deformed man calling himself the Penguin wreaks havoc across Gotham with the help of a cruel businessman.
Not the best Batman movie, but a great Tim Burton film--dark and fun without being overly campy. 9/10

Has anybody seen Cats? I only found out about it the other day, watched the trailer and it creeped me out. I'm a fan of the musical and Tom Hooper but I can't get my head around why CGI was chosen over costume/makeup/prostethics.

It bombed hardcore at the box office, although the studio just shipped a new version to theaters with improved CGI in some scenes...

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.
I don't judge these recent sequels with anywhere near the same scrutiny as hardcore fans. I thought it was an entertaining sci-fi action movie. 7/10

Before seeing the new film, I went on a semi-marathon of the some of the previous movies (over the course of a couple weeks).
Star Wars IV - 9/10
Star Wars V - 10/10
Star Wars VI - 7.5/10
Star Wars I - 4/10
Star Wars II - 2/10
Star Wars III - 7/10
Star Wars VII - 6/10
Star Wars VII - didn't re-watch, but I've seen it, so 2/10
and Star Wars - the Rise of Skywalker - 7/10
