A new director has not been found yet. Production is supposed to start in May with a release date of May 7, 2021.

If I had to guess many directors prefer stand alone while studio likes cross promotional aspects. I remember Ant-Man had similar issues.

We will have to wait and see if this was for the best or a missed opportunity.

im assuming they're looking at Raimi because hes good at adding humor to the horror (see drag me to hell, evil dead, etc) which is probably why Scott left, seems he wanted to go the darker more serious route, which obviously Marvel doesnt want as it will alienate the kiddies

If it’s true, I’ve got money it’s Magneto from a multiverse where he is her father. Just another good jab about the damn recon It’s also another reason to use the superior Quicksilver (Evan Peters version).
