That was the reason why i have canceled it.
It is not ok to increase the edition during the preorder periode.

Agreed.

It's a nice looking piece and all, but that's an incredibly scummy move.

Typically its bad to change things up after a release but in this case I see it as good news. All too often Frazetta pieces are trying to hit minimums, then the lines die and the license gets dropped. Grim Reaper barely got made. ARH couldnt even move 100 units of any of their pieces and it tanked the whole company. I dont think an ES of 500 is an unreasonable number. I was begging F4F to increase the ES for Mugen and Saitama, even after it shipped. Those lines are all but dead now.

If this were something I really wanted, because I loved the source material (original painting), I might be disappointed in the bumping up of the ES, but there would be no way in hell I'd let that deter me from owning and enjoying it.

It sure seems like some people want the feeling of specialness and exclusivity more than they want the actual object d'art.

I'm glad I've never been like that or I wouldn't have an open ES Galactus maquette, which is still far and away one of my favorite pieces.

And FriendlySamurai has a great point in regards to these Frazetta pieces. I would gladly have traded a much higher ES on CatGirl to have gotten a much closer portrait likeness to Frazetta's art (which is what both characters in SoM here share). At least with them closer to turning a profit on this, there's a chance they'll put out another Frazetta piece in the future that checks all the boxes for me.

Level52 looks to have done a stellar job with this and is offering it at a more than reasonable price.
If those aren't the primary aspects you'e fixating on, I don't know how you can enjoy this "hobby".

eeehhh I'm very forgiving to tiny companies trying to stay afloat in this industry.

Good for Level52 if they can actually sell some extras.
This is a VERY niche piece.

Sorry for not clearing this up before. It is not an edition size of 500. Sideshow mislabeled. We are only producing 160 units or less. Same goes for the Reaper.

Agree 100%. The cost to produce and risk involved financially is huge and more so on tiny run pieces. We aren't talking about 5000 or something.

That is a tiny run. I know the ARH pieces ended up in the 100-130 area and in some cases as small as 50 so I am really glad these Frazetta pieces are made at all and if we want them made I think we should support Level52 in their efforts if we can.

One thing to note as well, we don't make much on these Frazetta pieces, they sell in low volume and with that comes pretty high production costs, plus royalties. We make these because we are honored to be working on such a meaningful license that doesn't get enough attention. Our bread and butter is client work, but we love doing these statues. Thanks for supporting us!

This looks great! I love Frazetta's work. It is so iconic.

Is there a Conan on the horizon ?
