Agreed, most notably Argo.

Think of it this way.
Whatever qualities that it is that make an actor pleasurable to watch them perform, there is an opposite to that, at least for me in some cases.

Well these people repel me.

I can't fix that nor should I, it's emotional the consumption of art, and I can't make myself enjoy them.
So no I didn't miss a positive experience because I am repulsed.

Most people usually have someone they can't stand to watch.

In my circle everyone groaned upon hearing of Batfleck, so it wasn't just me.

I didn't care for Man of Steel so going this flavor of films probably isn't for me anyways.

But the good thing about Bats, is that the next incarnation is never that far away. I'll have many more before I die I'm sure.

What I want to see is even more accurate comic to film.
Ditch the armor. Get a body builder and bring those pages to life. Maybe someday.

"Ditch the armor. Get a bodybuilder" says about all it needs to for me to understand why you don't like Oscar worthy performances.

Because all body builders are just steroid monsters that can't act?

Come on.

Oscars are not the be all end all recognition of greatness you know. It's an inside industry
political awards show.
Star Wars lost best picture to some Woody Allen movie nobody remembers.

Think from the 1970s back to Neil Adams on... The Batman has been drawn easily the size of a body builder. No actor yet has met that requirement and the armor has always been the cheat.
We all know that.

Who wouldn't want a true comic adaption for a change?

You want a good rendition of Batman with no suit cheats, check out Sandy Collara's "Batman: Dead End" or "World's Finest" indy film trailers. Clark Bartram plays Batman and has no need at all for padding. Possibly my favorite ever take on Batman. I have no idea why these two trailers did not land Collara some serious funding to pursue the project.

Yes that proves my point that it can be done.
Imagine a hundred million dollars behind such an effort? Hell ten million dollars.
Geez a really good Batman doesn't need a ton of expensive FX and gadgets, just get him in the streets detecting and kicking ass.

Those were both extremely well done but the prospect of a master combatant and strategist, getting into lethal force encounters without any kind of protection is preposterous. The concept of Batman fighting crime in a spandex suit was abandoned in the comics for almost 30 years. The current incarnations are "comic accurate". Oh well, you will always have Adam West
