JB is including the story on the pages he's posting in this thread...

I agree though, that someone should ink and color these. If Marvel would only publish this, I'd be buying my first comics in many years.

I'm loving this and while I wish Marvel had been able to make this work out & publish it, I'm grateful that Byrne is giving this away to the fans. This is some really great stuff.

Man, it's like getting into a time machine. Byrne is dealing and I'm loving it. I wish it had been published by Marvel but as some posters on his site have pointed out, seeing the raw pencils is a treat in itself.

The idea to release it as a serial will keep me riveted to his site for some time to come.

His writing skills are as sharp as his pencils... he tends to leave you hanging with each page. In my opinion, his writing prowess has often lived in the shadow of his legendary artistry.

This is the most fun I've had reading a comic adventure in a long while... I'm chomping at the bit to see what happens next!

FYI, Byrne is up to "issue" #6 and it's been great reading thus far!

So this "fan fic" is up to issue 8 now. This issue features not only the X-Men, but the Avengers, and now, the Fantastic Four! Oh how I wish this was actually being published!
