Thor sounds like a good reference. I'm eager to see Thanos next to behemoths like Juggernaut and Hulk as well. He shouldn't come close to their size, but I expect he will have enough presence still.

There are a lot of other poses I believe that can be done with Thanos. The BD Thanos poses all though simple, look imposing. This pose looks like he's striking a pose right after completing his dance routine. Not sure something feels a bit off. Maybe it's that slight lean that he has which makes it look that way.
May have to pass on him for the same reason as I have for passing on Black Panther, he just won't fit in with the rest of the collection in his armoured look. A great option for someone who doesn't have Thanos in their collection though.

Given the announcement was made in October, and by Koto's speed in production... I'm estimating Thanos hits the shelves by September 2016?....

What other poses fit for thanos do you have in mind?

I agree with you that this armored look is a great option for those without Thanos but it's also a great addition to a collection since most thanos stats have the classic look.

I agree. IF height is accurate Thanos should not be as huge as the two behemoths you mentioned.

Just a few .... there's so much more that can be done tweaked from existing comic art.

Not a fan of the modern look but since I can't seem to get my hands on the bowen In Thanos, I guess I'll be buying this

I love the idea of a Koto Thanos 1/6 scale. I would lean towards the classic costume look. If possible please rescuplt the pose and add an extra torso with the clasic costume. It will look sick.
