I don't think anyone disagrees the first one wasn't extremely well done. It was. But this is a progression of the story, and it doesn't have the disjointed water around her throwing off the smooth consistency with the rest of the CotD.

I never liked the first siren, hated the water waist belt, the dead "pirate/children", the new one blows it out of the park in every way.

I wouldn't even compare this to the original. They changed it enough to make it feel like two different characters. I would be fine owning both.

seeing more pictures of her.. she is more looking like a reptile.. caterpillar creature ... dont see siren here at all

The description says she's no longer bound to the sea so who knows what exactly she is, a snake?, octopus? eel? caterpillar?
