360
So my Xbox crapped out last week, the old red ring of death. So now i'm just waiting to buy a new one. My question is for transfering my saved games to the new hard drive. Will I need to buy the lil memory stick unit or can i connect xbox to xbox and transfer?
thanks

You do not return the hard drive with the console. You keep the hard drive and just snap it back on when you get the repaired console back.

i got my console back when the 360s first came out and i was under the impression that microsoft only fixes it for you if it was a year and half old or younger. thats why i was just going to go and buy a new one

I believe the warranty for the RRD is for 3 years only.

Red ring of death is 3 years from date of original sale, or from date of repair if it had been returned previously. That's only for that specific error though. Believe me, I work for a retailer and have had to send back enough to know...

You don't have to worry if your buying a new system...... if you are buying a new 360 system make sure that you buy the core version (the basic 360 without a hard drive it will be the cheapest one to pick up) then take your old hard drive off the broken 360 and put it on your new x-box. Shazaaaaaaaaaam! back in action!

You will need a transfer cable and disc.
I upgraded from 20gb to a 120gb hard drive and had to buy the transfer cable to move all saved and downloaded files.
