Keep the boxes unless the cost of storing them is so high that it makes the value of keeping them worthless.

I was arrested for selling illegal-sized paper.

They are definitely worth keeping
If you think about it most shipping boxes are the size of the actual art box or just slightly larger. The shipping box actually protects the art box and plus if you do wish to resell then you will always have a shipping box to send your statue to whoever wishes to buy it.

I keep the actual box. Not the shipper. I used to keep both but I’ve been throwing most of the shippers away. I have a storage unit for now as I do not own a home.

I'm happy to throw out boxes for the less expensive and smaller pieces (1/6 or so). Particularly if they're PVC or less intricate where just wrapping them in bubble wrap would keep them safe for a move. Plus, if I do lose interest, I'm more likely to just give those away rather than going through the hassle of selling and shipping.

I do keep the larger ones because I can imagine the nightmare of trying to relocate some of those without the form-fit styrofoam.

I think if I was settled for the foreseeable future and living in a populated region where, if I had to sell, local sales would be possible, I'd be tempted to get rid of quite a few boxes.

Or wait until you get enough and assemble them into some sort of massive box-monster statue.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I break down the shippers, and keep the art boxes with the foam inside. The art boxes look cool downstairs in my basement.

I saved the boxes until I ran out of space. I never looked at the 'art' boxes and never cared for them. I finally decided to toss them and free up a ton of space. With the way these things lose value, I stopped worrying about resale.
