Nah I think it has to do with more the Venom torso being clearly better to own over the crossed-arms torso.
Had they used the Venom torso along with the crossed-arms torso as an exclusive/ultimate, they'd never move the regs. I think it's a good decision to use the torso everyone would rather own (Venom torso) as a regular.

If I were getting Bane, I don't think I'd ever display the Jacket version so the Regular would be an easy choice.
For me, the Venom is a vital part of his character. I'd rather have that on display.

You have a great point. I say it would be cool having almost two statues for one... but I would only display the venom one.

Just watched Batman last night and my wife and I can't get over how absolutely TERRIBLE Bane sounds in it. There is no freaking way I could ever take him seriously. Even if he had a nuke...

I think you're both probably right. I think they wanted to give buyers the option of a cheaper package with the one torso, and I think they picked the venom torso as the default/regular, knowing it would be the better seller.

I think the jacket version plays to the cerebral part of this character. Bane fans will have a tough choice ahead.
