I think XM so let go of the Star Wars license or pursue any other movie licenses, too restrictive on creativity. XM is known for their creativity and design. To get something accurate like in the movies or games, they will have to do what Prime 1 or other company does which is to get the digital files, etc.

I really like this statue and I'll be getting one, however I do wish they would tweak a couple of things. First, some folks in this thread were commenting that the visor was distorting Luke's face. The solution is to have the visor in the up position, the way it was in the movie after he crashes the snowspeeder and runs after the AT-AT. I also wish they lightened up the front end of that grappling gun; it should be off white, not the same dark gray as the rest of the gun.

Based on the video from the Con, the likeness is off on the statue IMO.

If you show me a good comparison pic of the gun i will tell them. They are good at fixing things like that.

It's really not. The visor had the effect of "warping" the face. They will be fixing it with a better and thinner visor.

Those who saw it without the visor all said it was an amazing likeness.

+1

The visor was just to thick.

After some Google and Wookieepedia searches, I'm really not finding any great reference photos.

There's this one:

and then there's Gentle Giant's take on it:

If anyone can find a better one, please post. Thanks.

Kind of interesting that GG also had the visor in the down position. Not sure why LFL didn't correct this for either GG or XM.

Not the best pic I've ever taken, but here is a look at the portrait without the visor...personally, I think it's a pretty good likeness.
