There's no news as of yet Hal. His team is playing hardball with the UFC. They want a lot of their terms met but the UFC wants an exclusive contract. Word is that the UFC is willing to offer him the biggest contract in the history of the company along with an immediate title shot against Couture.
Roughly, Fedor would get in the ball park of $2 million per fight + ppv bonuses.
Unfortunately for the UFC, billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks is also in the running to get Fedor for his own startup MMA org.
As for Fedor, he's only 30. Still a very young man in this game with a great big future and he's improving all the time.
The time off isn't a bad idea for him though. Gives him a chance to rest up his injuries particularly his often damaged hand which has undergone surgery and is a nuisance sometimes. He hurts it when he smashes it on a man's skull as hard as he can which is often. LOL!
