I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Talking Trying out Personal Sketch Cards.

Ok, so this is my first foray into the realm of sketch cards, and my first use of artist grade markers too.

I think the Jean came out well, the Dazzler is a real example of "experimentation" that wasn't too sucessful, and the Mystique is a colab between myself and my husband. I did the pencils/layout and he did the inks and colors on that one.

I think my strong suit is the shaded style, and I'll be doing some more coming up like Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Dark Phoenix, and Samus Aran.

Nice. I like the Jean Grey one. Because it leans towards realism. She looks kinda pale though. Intentional?

Thanks. I think the more realistic style is my strong suit, so I'll probably keep doing that on the rest of them too. I'll likely do another Dazzler and Mystique in that vein as well.

Yes, she's meant to be pale. I left her skin the stark white with shading so that her face stood out more against the bright hair color and background. I just thought it looked nice with the contrast.

Ok, still trying new styles and new media/techniques, but I had to try my hand at my favorite character eventually.

I need to practice more on these smaller scales. It's difficult for me (especially the hands and eyes,) so I feel like I need to force myself to try it more.

Ok, wanted to try my hand at inking/coloring the same Mystique that my husband had done. It's very interesting to see how divergent our two styles are (to me at least.)

New Sketch Cards.

My darling husband has been kind enough to draw me some awesome sketch cards, so that I could practice coloring. He did the pencils and inking, I just did the coloring. I think I'm getting better and finding the right techniques for the markers that I've basically never used before.

Most of the colors are Chartpak markers, some accents are Copic, and a few have plain old crayolas (but I'm phasing those out as I fall in love with the latter two.)

Set 1:
You have from left to right: Attuma, Immortus, Ultron, Zemo, Kingpin, Storm, Mastermind, Kang, Dr. Doom.

Set 2:
You have from left to right: Bullseye, Thanos, Doc Ock, Madam Masque, Loki, Elektra, Wolverine, Mystique, and Juggernaut.

Set 3:
You have from left to right: Redskull, Kang, Spiral, Captain America, Lady Deathstrike, Sabretooth, Ronan the Destroyer, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin.

I have added them to our "For Sale" CAF gallery too.
