Night Of Something Strange (2016) 0/10

My 1st o/10 ever here on SF & it's well earned. This horror movie was putrid. Purchased on a whim at a horror-con last summer, I gave this * a watch. Worst movie I've ever seen. My son, who was sitting next to me as we watched had the look of a person in shock. Speechless throughout most of the flick, yet somehow we watched it all.

Hustle (1975) - 8.5/10

Wow! I'd never even heard of this movie but managed to catch the whole thing on Starz while channel surfing. Directed by Robert Aldrich, the Dirty Dozen/The Longest Yard & more, this 70's crime story really blew me away. Burt Reynolds, Catherine Deneuve, Eddie Albert are just a few of the actors who star in this color Film Noir film. Burt plays a L.A. Police Leut. who gets involved in a suicide case in which there's a lot more involved than just a teen killing herself on a beach. Beautifully shot, this movie just unfolds in it's own sweet time. Man, the bars, the restaurants, the soundtrack, the clothes .... everything adds up to just a killer 70's exploration into crime, justice & the middle class. This movie submerges the viewer in 1975, in all it's chunkiness, color, & now, dead social norms. Great story, great direction. I've never seen a better Burt Reynolds' movie. One hell of a soundtrack too ... which I now have to find & buy.

The Corpse Grinders (1971) - 4/10

I'm on a roll. Caught this 2 nights ago on Comet. Had never heard of it. Shady, gross, crime-guys get involved somehow, in the cat food business. They decide to save a few bucks & get rid of even shadier folk by grinding them up & selling the human-pat'e as cat food. Well, go figure, the cats who eat the chunkage immediately develop a taste for human flesh & start attacking & munching their, mostly single women (go figure) owners. A bizarre, young, early 70's team of Doctor & Nurse get "on the case" & figure out what's happening. A couple close calls later & all the bad guys eventually end up as cat food. Oddly bad & fun at the same time.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I have seen it and i dont think it would be bad for a 10 yo. I loved the movie and even tho not as good as “gifted” it is one of those feel good movies. I remember after seeing it i thought it would be a good movie for school kids to see, afterwards they may relise how good they have it. Cheers 😁
