The diorama in question is the Dark Phoenix Saga from Diamond Select Toys.

The "fastball special" is a combat technique first developed between Wolverine and Colossus during the early second genesis days of Uncanny X-Men. Essentially Colossus throws Wolverine at an opponent and Wolverine hits using his adamantium skeleton (or claws) to inflict maximum damage. Other X-Men have used the technique to varying levels of success.

I saw this X-Men series in Chicago. Maybe an "B" for effort, but otherwise, very poor work. The Colossus has some real issues with body proportions. the legs are at least one full inch too short (allot in a small scale) very squatting looking. The Jean Gray is a "Train Wreck". I will say that the pose and overall design for Nightcrawler is pretty cool. But the series looks like the old garage kit work. Not at all on par with the quality that Marvel characters deserve.
