Calling all pinball wizards.........

I've always wanted a pinball machine. Anyone have one in their man cave? What are the downsides? Repair costs, maintenance, etc?

I have the Gottlieb Hulk pinball machine. It looks amazing with tons of great 70's Hulk imagery. Upkeep can be troublesome unless you buy a high end (meaning cost) one. Mine is a bit temperamental but I still enjoy it. I would say don't get one if you can't live with minor problems from time to time.

If it needs some type of repair what are the typical labor rates and is it easy to find someone who can repair it or do you try to do it yourself?

That is a good question. I have tinkered a bit but have not called anyone to come fix it.

When I was in high school, we had the same Hulk pinball game and it worked fine for the most part. I think we had to call someone in once. I loved having it.

Course my first year in college and my parents moved to a new house and sold the game without telling me.

I keep trying to decide on Biting the bullet and getting the Data East Batman one from 91. Gotta wonder why they never made one until then I mean come on a Batman pinball in the 70's would have been Sweeettt.

That's surprising. Were there any other DC hero pinball games out in the 70's?

I understand that they can be expensive. My friend bought an Addams Family machine and paid like 3k and then added 3k in repairs
