As well researched as Mack was/is, I would say his character designs for Kabuki were basic (but still cool) amalgamations of traditional Japanese imagery. He and XM/Hive probably culled from similar sources, as they're both going for an approach that simply but effectively symbolizes the characters without needing a similarly obsessive level of research to understand. The mask on the right looks similar to E. Honda's kumadori design in Street Fighter, but I wouldn't call it an appropriation or re-hash.

I'm not sure if I'll be getting Ivy, don't get me wrong I think it's turning out great, I was never a fan to begin with. But I can see myself getting joker and Harley along with batgirl. I'm really digging the whole samurai take on the Gothom world.

Really ? I hope you're right. Ivy is my favorite character in the Batman license and i love the Japanese touch. I need that one in my collection.

This is my favorite as well. But it looks like an assembly nightmare. I have a hard lime with Phoenix. I can't imagine putting this one together.
