What Book Have You Re-Read The Most?

For me, it’s Dracula. Not the greatest literature, even though I did read it as part of a college course on Gothic Literature. But, being told as a series of sequential journal entries written by all the characters involved in this adventure makes the terror personal and visceral in a way I’ve rarely experienced in other books. Actually getting inside the psyches of each character as they recount their experiences in their journals is a brilliant conceit that works perfectly and brings this supernatural tale of horror into reality. I bet I’ve read this at least 5 times. This story, the way it’s told, never loses its thrill for me.

Probably followed by The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings. I group these four books together because I always end up reading Lord of the Rings right after The Hobbit. Probably read them three or four times.

Good Omens by Gaiman & Pratchett, about 5 times
Some Discworld novels about 3 times each ( again by Pratchett)
River God & Seventh scroll by Wilbur Smith about 4 times each

Haven't read a book in a while now though, too busy lately

A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson, about 3 times. Love all his books.
Washington by Ron Chernow a few times intermittently, and EX Heroes by Peter Clines a few times as well. Clines really combines the world of Zombies and super heroes well. Two great tastes that taste great together. I think it would make a great movie.

Legend of Drizzt Book 1: Homeland

I read it three times when i was at highschool... xD

The book is nothing special but i found it so great back in the day. It is pretty bad actually as series. Repetitive and inconsistant. I dropped it at 7th book, one can only take so much...

I've read the Fred Saberhagen Sword books 10 or 11 times now. Starting with The Empire of the East trilogy followed by the Sword Trilogy and lastly the 8 part Lost Swords books.

He wrote a last book for the series in 2006 called Ardneh's Sword which is actually a prequel that sets all the others up. He passed away in 2007. Fred started out as a manual writer for Motorola. His level of detail in character and setting description is amazing.

This book may not be for everyone but I loved Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.

I've read all the J.L. Bourne, Day by Day - zombie books around 5 times.
Peal Buck's The Good Earth probably 4
Andre Norton's Daybreak 2250 a bunch of times.
Salem's Lot 2-3. The Stand twice.
All of Howard's Conan books several times as with other sword and sorcery books.

I know they're more.

I used to love The Interview with the Vampire film when i was at highschool... I realised how gay it's as i turned 24 or something, it was this perfect gay fantasy about building a family... lol i read Vampire Lestat before that when i was 22 or something and i loved it... I'm kind of emberassed about used to loving the film and the book now actually... lol
