Anyone use Thunderbird for e-mail

I just upgraded to Thunderbird 3.1.3. For the previous version, I could put two words in the search box and it would find only those e-mails with both of the words present. With the new version, if I put two words in the search box, it finds all e-mails with one of the two words in it. I tried using "&" and "and" between the words but got nothing different. help!!!

When you search, just above the drop down that has "body, subject, ..., you should see two options.
Match all of the following and Match one of the following. Make sure the first is selected.
