I love a happy ending. UPS tracking sucks donkey balls, but today I was finally able to pick this up at my local UPS customer center like I wanted to do originally....

P1 customer service was fairly prompt in responding to me, but basically put everything on me to file a claim, etc. They seemed a bit hands off, but I'm glad it didn't get to the point where they HAD to do something, because I've read the horror stories of how crappy they are. First and last time I order direct from them.

Glad you got it sorted, I do recommend ordering from Secret Compass or Spec Fiction in the US (you will save money too) if you're in the US and they'll definitely be a lot better to deal with in regards to lost packages issues. However just be aware getting replacements for issues will probably still be just as difficult cause ultimately they have to get P1 to replace it and they are still gonna be ----s about it.

That's why I bought my Prime 1 Jungle Hunter statue from Secret Compass. Better service and protection against situation like yours.

Get most stuff from Sideshow if you can and don't ever opt for replacements.
Most of our experience as consumers has not prepared us to accept these kinds of gambles buying things.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

hi, happy you got your statue! Can you give some insight what duty you have to pay?

I never had to pay any duties for p1 or any international packages delivered to me, living in the US. Haven't ordered direct from P1 in a while, just curious if this is some new thing now?

It's basically just paying UPS brokerage fees. They pay the duties to keep the package moving, but it's up to the receiver to pay them before they can take the package. This was the first and last time I order direct from P1, but it's also the 2nd time I've had to pay duties from ordering something from Japan. I'm not sure if it's due to the item value, which both were over 2k, but that'd be my assumption. If you didn't pay any duties, my guess would be the shipper put a low item value to avoid duties, but I'm just assuming. I will say that my UPS fees were more than the FedEx fees, even though the package from FedEx cost almost 1k more.
