Ah, Doom and Quake. We used to play it at work during lunch hour. Sometimes there would be 8 or 10 of us playing. In the beginning we played on SGI IRIX systems. Someone at SGI recompiled Doom for IRIX (SGI's version of Unix). They did the same up to Quake 2. There was a mix of SGI's and PC's for a while, and ended just last year with all PC's. We had quite the collection of 3rd party maps and character models for Quake 2. Our favorite model was the crakhor (scantilly clad busty babe with pr0n samples as audio). A bunch of them running around shooting one another and you couldn't help but laugh. Headphones were a must though.

I also played Diablos 1 & 2 for a long time too. I have quite a few D2 characters still around. I'd like to start playing again but I don't have that kind of spare time any more.

An updated version came out on the 3DO system. I was so into video games around that time (importing systems from Japan) that I almost paid the $700 or so for one. A friend of mine bought a 3DO and I used to play Road Rash on his system. It was a fun game.

Yeah I had the 3DO and Road Rash was the main reason behind me purchasing it. I played that game to death but really hated the Panasonic controller. The only thing that sucked is the game was essentially the same as the Genesis games with better graphics. I still loved it but a totally new version seemed like a no-brainer once the next generation of consoles came out and yet it never happened.

Cannot believe no one has mentioned Xcom yet... one of the best PC strategy games ever...

I spent a number of hours playing Star Wars Galaxies until they made it no fun... and then World of Warcraft... but that is starting to become a task for me as well... Burnout is coming to the 360 tomorrow... I might pick that up... but Elder Scrolls IV comes out on the 21st.. and I shall be Zombie-fied for that...
