Could any Storm piece they show live up to the community hype? If they do release this my bets are a harsh welcome followed by acceptance. Kind of like crack for your first time.

Indomitus you could be right. That’s a typical reaction. The more hyped something is the harder it is for that thing to satisfy even if that thing is generally “good”.

We all have in our heads an ideal for Storm. And Sideshow results vary. The more popular a character is though, the more criticism the statue will get if SS makes interesting choices with the pose, costume details, face sculpt, etc.

Or, it could get a Rogue reaction where it’s mostly praised upon reveal.

And I’m not saying it will have a fabric cape, but if it does, let’s not act surprised. Gambit and Batman are the exceptions. By and large, characters with capes and coats tend to have fabric from Sideshow. I don’t know why people act so surprised and disappointed to see this every time or up in arms when sideshow does what sideshow is not just known to do, but has been successful for them for many years at this point whether y’all like it here or not.

That said, I don’t care either way. Cloth and sculpted capes both have their pros and cons.

People are allowed express their excitement or disappointment without being ridiculed. Not all of us like their cheap fabric capes (or their cheap pleather coats).

They did a sculpted coat for Gambit so there is still hope Storm could be all sculpt. Though, this is one of the reasons why I wish they'd do a mohawk Storm - no cape to worry about at all.

You nailed it Northern. There’s no way she’ll have a sculpted cape although SS should know better. And I hope to goodness she is the first reveal, not because I want one but because the #stormriot needs to end and the pent up demand for this character needs to be answered and X-Men collectors need to be satisfied and the X-Men line that much closer to completion.
