Has anyone ever come across something like this...?
I frequented a blog often...
It's this artist's sketches - very cartoony but very cool - anyways, I asked about a commission.
He responded with a price that I thought was fair for a full inked piece - but today recieved this email...
"Alrighty, your illustration is done. Would you prefer a high-rez copy you can have printed at your leisure, or do you want me to print one out and send it to you?"
Wait... a copy? He talked about sketching the piece out - unless it was done on the computer - but... I don't know. I just never imagined coming across something like this...
Has anyone else?
What is the course of action I should take? I wasn't paying for a copy of a piece - I wanted the original... Not sure what to say here...

how much are we talking about here? $10, $50, $100? I would inquire that you thought you were buying the original.

He quoted me $100
I did email him back asking why I would be getting a copy of the commission I paid for. I'll wait to see what he says...
It just seems so strange -
Am I wrong here?

It seems extremely strange. $100.00 for a photocopy is absurd.

If not, he's nuts thinking you'll be happy with a copy.
