I’d go with a Samsung, Toshiba or maybe a Sharp. JVC has a really good one too. I was reading about it the other day but I forgot the model. It would probably come down between a Samsung and a Toshiba though.

My wife and I are in love with Samsung flat panels, but we're refraining from buying one until they get rid of the rediculous high-gloss frame.

How far is your couch from where the tv will be?
I sit 8ft away from a 32" 720 Samsung which looks great. While my brother sits 8ft away from a 40" 720 Samsung which looks terrible.
The bigger you get, the higher resolution you have to get but don't get crazy because you still want to avoid the feeling that your in the front row of a movie theatre.

Same here. I have a 56” and I sit 10 – 12 ft away also. I can’t watch anything smaller than that in a living room. I’m already planning on going bigger for my next one. Next TV I’m going 60+ flat panel. I can’t wait for that ****!!!!
