Living in Florida, that film takes on a whole different perspective.

Ugh.. I can only imagine. One of the reasons I’d never want to live there. Similarly I’d never want to live in the dry arid climates where snakes and scorpions roam aplenty.

Bombshell - 6.5/10
I wonder how history will look at films like these in the future.

The Wicker Man (1973) 8/10
What a great script, great writing. Not quite a horor film, more a drama with supernatural undertones, this movie is pretty easy to get sucked in to. There as some positively beautiful & eerie visuals throughout & the cast, including Christopher Lee, Ingrid Pitt & Ed Woodward are all strong actors. I love the idea of paganism as a backstory & it's fully explored in this movie with strong visual representations of ritual from minor to major. Great movie!

Halloween (2018) - 6.5/10
Decent but totally unnecessary reboot/sequel. As someone who LOVES Carpenter’s film and the original sequel this alternative sequel is a bit hard to swallow. Mostly because it erases what I feel is one of the most interesting reveals/twists in the overall narrative. The fact that Laurie Strode is, unbeknownst to her, actually Michael Myers’ sister. Without that he’s relegated to a mindless killing machine and as such his focused pursuit of Laurie doesn’t make much sense. Stylistically I really liked this film, but the erasure of the relationship revealed in Halloween II is just too big a hurdle for me to get past. Had this been a follow up to that film instead of just Halloween it would’ve worked a lot better for me.

Bad Boys for Life - 8/10
I thought this was the best one out of all the Bad Boy films... The humor was good so was the action...

exactly my problem with the reboot, if you take out the sibling connection than Mike is just some crazy guy who killed 4 people 40 years ago and has done nothing since yet Laurie still acts as if he's been stalking her every step of the way. and yes i get it'd be incredibly traumatic to go through, but if this guy is totally disconnected from her and hasn't been killing for decades i find it hard to believe she'd live the life she's living here.
