Best zombie films
I've been trying to round up any and all even remotely decent zombie films, but I'm a bit uncertain about where to start. So far I have,
Night of the Living Dead and the 90' remake
Dawn of the Dead and remake
Day of the Dead
Land of the Dead
Return of the Living Dead 1&2
Shaun of the Dead
Flight of the Living Dead
Dead Alive
Dead Next Door wow..that's all I can say...
Resident Evil Trilogy
I have the 28 films, but they don't count.
I've heard about these Italian films but don't know anything about them. I think one's called Zombi not sure though. What do you dead heads recommend?

The Italian stuff is an acquired taste, but if you get the flavor, you're hooked.
ZOMBI and THE BEYOND both by Lucio Fulci
The Spaniards did some super cool stuff(again, if you pick up the Euro-trash scent).
TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD
Hippie zombies-
CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS
Veteran zombie-
DEATHDREAM
Nazi Zombies-
SHOCK WAVES
British zombies-
LET SLEEPING CORSES LIE

One of the great unknown and underrated zombie films of all time IMO is "Dead and Buried", it is a fantastic movie with a sort of a twist ending that you don't see coming. I don't know where a person could even get it, but see it if you can

That's a really cool flick. An excellent film on all counts.
I thought of it more as an oddball Stepford Wives type deal, but I guess they could be zombies too.

Thanks guys. I kinda figured the Italian films wouldn't be for everyone. When it comes to zombies though, you can't be too picky.
Has anyone here seen Fido? I saw the box the other day, but it looked very iffy.
Is Dead and Buried an American film?
Nazi zombies you say? How can that be a bad movie. Is it American?

I wouldn't want to give away the premise, that is part of the movie's appeal, but while the zombies aren't the usual mindless, slow moving, brain eaters they are definitely the dead brought back as zombies. Glad you liked it, I wouldn't want to be the only one. I've always liked Melody Thomas of Young and the Restless fame, you don't see her in movies very often.

When I was young I thought the Italian and Spanish stuff was goofy because of the dubbing of the voices. Eventually you look past that and watch the films for what they are. And actually I now love the bad dubbing and see it as part of the charm of real Grindhouse cinema. Back when Grindhouses still existed.
None of them are like modern stuff, so be prepared for something different. They are their own style that I personally love.
Never saw FIDO.
DEAD AND BURIED is indeed American made, from about 1983, I think. Super cool.

You also get to see a very topless Lisa Blount, and that ain't all too bad either.

Yeah, I've learned to set my expectations a bit lower for zombie films, so I think I'll be ok. I hear that the Italian films..at least in the 80's were always a step ahead in terms of horror.
