I guess i got lucky with my shipment, its one of my fav statues, even if the phoenix is a little on the harry potter looking side according to a friend of mine.
Just the details and look is commanding and bad ass like i expect her to be. I had debated if it was worth the price, SS is way to plain for the character and the base was meh. XM has flaws but over all just is hard to pass up for X-men fans.
I hope the next XM or SS version can pull this off below

Does anybody have this one and the original green suited Jean Gray with the translucent Phoenix and have any thoughts on comparisons?

I've owned both but sold the green one awhile back... The dark phoenix has better portraits and is a bit more realistic looking vs the green one that has more of a comic book vibe to it.
Plus Dark Phoenix has a bit more detail to it with the flames surrounding her...

I have the green one and love it. I passed on Dark Phoenix. She looks great but I only have room for one 1/4 scale Phoenix and the green one hits the spot for me. The translucent Phoenix is huge and looks incredible. The sculpt looks great and Phoenix is a part of my favorite X-MEN lineup. Cyclops, Phoenix, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Storm from the Byrne era is where it's at for me.
If you can only add one Phoenix to your collection, my advice is to pick the character you like most. Both of them look great so you can't go wrong with either.

I agree you can't go wrong with either one... just choose the version you prefer...

Bought the green when it first came out, sold it for dark pheonix and since repurchased green at an incredible deal years ago (still in the box...to be honest i would sell it again).
Dark pheonix has been displayed since day 1 thst i got it. It won the 2019 award.....and if jean grey was released in 2019 i dont think it would have stolen the crown.....

Dark Phoenix is an amazing one, it very well be one statue i'll never be able to sell. I had to sell my green XM phoenix didn't make sense to keep both, i'm not the kind of collector to keep multiples of each character. Plus the Green version only had 1 passable portrait, the rest were not for me.

Yeah that's my main gripe with the green Phoenix, the portrait with the wild flowing hair is pretty good but the other 2 just don't really work for me. On the flip side, I don't usually buy statues of the villains so the dark Phoenix is a ? for me also. I may just grab the sideshow Jean Grey for now (my favorite era is the Jim Lee era so that makes some sense). The reviews have been pretty decent on that I think, and it looks good.
The XM 'Phoenixes' look great though. Too bad I can't find the Dark Phoenix! I'm new to XM but it seems like they have very limited distribution in the states?
