yeah, but the main guy in gwenth's version is hot! Isn't it Jeremy NOrtham?

I love Emma Thompson's version of Sense and Sensibility, beautiful movie!

And who can't love the miniseries of Pride and Prejudice. And I still love the keira knightly movie.

I didn't think anyone was yelling at me. Sorry if I came off snappish. I certainly didn't intend it that way. I assumed you'd attributed someone else's comment to me, as I've been the one talking the most about Austen.

I have heard to skip the Paltrow version of Emma. I may try and dig up the BBC mini, though, to check it out. (It seems like I recall that being aired recently, even.) But, I don't know anything about Persuasion. I'll put it on the list after Pride & Prejudice.

And Harriet Walter is -perfect- as Mrs. John Dashwood. In fact, I'm having trouble reading the book without subbing the actors' voices in my head, and every one of Fanny's lines is howling funny when you picture Ms. Walter saying them.

I quite enjoyed the recent movie of Pride & Prejudice. I thought it was very well-done, and quite funny in places.

OMG, I agree 100%. and the book was so preachy! Fanny Price just stood on the sideline of life and that was what we were supposed to admire about her?

Yes, cirian hinds is the perfect Captain Wentworth! So manly, so masculine. but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alan Rickman in S&S, one of my fav roles for him.

And Harriet Walter is the best Fanny you can get. Its hard actually seeing her in antoher movie (like she was in Atonement) and not think of her as that role only.

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Julia Sawalha as Lydia is priceless.

The mom here is also my favorite actress in the part (she was in Shirley Valentine, too, but i don't remember who she is).

everyone in the world, esp Colin Firth, knows Colin Firth will never have a better role than Mr Darcy. but surely there are worse legacies.

anyone seen Hellboy 2 yet? i've so far skipped all the comic book movies this summer, but i'd pay to see Hellboy.

I have not seen Hellboy II yet. Of course, I haven't seen a movie in the theater since Superman Returns. I -wanted- to see Iron Man and Prince Caspian in the theater, but somehow, that never happened.

I told Jim that we were seeing Dark Knight at the IMAX, though, whether he wanted to or not.

i really have no interest in seeing Hellboy... can't wait for Batman though... but I am going to wait until the second weekend to try and see it, maybe the crowds will have died down some by then...
