My beef isn't with the physics of a fantasy prop per se.
It's that the action that the pose is supposedly representing isn't supported by the rest of the design.
The twisting of her body, the drawing in of her left arm- that's torque in action.
The press copy says she is supposed to be at the beginning or a motion (casting out the lasso) but it sure looks more like she is at the end of a motion (pulling it taut).
Her body is torqued, her left arm is pulled in tightly...
Her upper body is suggesting high tension.
The lasso OTOH, is looping loosely and lackadaisically around her various limbs.
These two elements are working at cross purposes.
That makes the whole design... confused.
Look at Harbottle's SSC WW from a couple years back.
Regardless of how you feel about the style of it, there is absolutely no misunderstanding what she is supposed to be doing in that piece.
And you can clearly imagine what her follow through motion will likely be.
The concept of (her activity) is executed with such crystal clarity that you could show someone a picture of it in silhouette and they would still be able to tell you exactly what her she is doing.
I see the opposite with this.
Not that any of that matters much, because even if I could look past all that, that price tag would have sent me running in the opposite direction anyway.
