If you were to light up the eyes using plexi-glass as the "window", I would suggest a lightly frosted plexi-glass. Clear wouldn't look all that great. You want something that diffuses the light better. Heck, even parchment paper might do the trick, as long as the light source is non-hot, as previously discussed.

Looks like another disappointing piece from Museum Replicas.

Well, it's accurate in that they promised us a helmet and it technically still is... but as for movie likeness, yeah, you're right.

In general I've been disappointed by the products produced by Windlass Studios.
I have the original gold helmet from them, but only because I got it under retail.

The face is too long, the eye line is too straight, the mouth is too wide and too far open, the forehead is too fat, the rest of the head is too small, the eyes are too wide in the center and too long, the opening at the top of the head is too big and not where it should be... to name a few things.
It doesn't look good at all from the front, from 3/4 it looks good but I don't think replicas should have only one good side.

I got mine last week too, number 28. I wish it was more accurate but I like it enough in my display of helmets to keep it.
The weird thing with Windlass is that Marvel has final say to change things and it seems they do ask for changes, I wonder if that is why it looks a little different. Just like with the Ultimate Thor hammer, they added leather wrapped around the handle per Marvel's request. I wonder if something like that happened here?
