It's very disappointing looking with the dark dome and paint at the back of the head.

Agree. CoolProps really dropped the ball on this one. The Alien 3 head in the Youtube video looks awful compared to the prototype. Missed the mark in many areas.... Especially the dome.... Way too dark.

I hope they do much better with the Big chap. That clear dome looks awesome, but it also reveals any bad paint apps beneath which can't be touched up without major surgery...

Not to mention that those awful wiggly lines of airbrushing. Ah, I was really excited about this piece.

Didn't want to post this in the Big Chap thread but Python said something interesting in his most recent post and bang on imo.
"You can very much see the skull, when a light source hits the alien".
A buddy showed me some pics of Neny Dee's (sorry if I'm spelling his name wrong) Dog Alien pics and he said the same thing, including pics of it. There was a direct light source on it and It looked really good. It was very different from the video he made. You could see the Endoskeleton clearly. I'm still out on this piece but people who are on the fence about this piece may want to check it out.

Just to add, my comment was based specifically on the Big chap. The dog did have a darker dome and I don't recall ever visibly seeing its skull on screen. I will have to watch it again and keep my eyes peeled for it. But it was visible on the prop so you should be able to see it on this.

Regrading this dog, there have been plenty of decent pictures posted over on SSF, it's good, but the paint could be better.

Sorry Python. I should have been clear, about you were speaking specifically on the Big Chap.
I'm pretty sure you see the skull(on the dog) in lots of shots.More from the middle to back. It's been years since I've watched it, could be wrong. Just saw those pics over there, glad to see that it wasnt a fail and the pics are so much better than the video.

Received this in U.K. from SS today. There's a big 8 inch crack on the back of the dome. Great!
Going ask SS for a replacement and not refund as it quite a nice piece. There's just one thing I really hate about it. The squiggly lines between the thick black vertical lines just under the middle part of the dome, look like they've been drawn in felt tip by a 3yr old.
Sorry the pictures aren't the right way round. Can't figure this out.
