Cross Bronx Expressway is the absolute worst when it comes to morning traffic. It's just as bad on the weekends. By comparisons, CBE traffic makes the I-278 East going over the Verrazano Bridge look good on the average day.

The easiest way to get to & from Staten Island is through New Jersey.

This is true but you have to pay tolls going through Jersey to get to the Bronx. Whereas going over the Verrazano there is no toll crossing the bridge heading to the Bronx. Let's hope the bigwigs from MTA Tunnels & Bridges and the politicians keep it this way because rumor mill has it they want to start the toll features going to and from Staten Island.
