You should plan out what kind of style or theme you are doing. I love Star Wars GI Joe and a few others but I realized my collecting space is limited. So i stick to DC amd Marvel characters that were my favourites growing up.

If you come to this forum asking for advice on what particular statues to collect, you clearly are in the wrong hobby.

Most of us are this hobby because we like the art form and how they represent the characters we actually like.

You should know what characters you'd like to collect before even considering this hobby.

I'm sorry but collecting statues doesn't mean just 1/4 scale like everyone is pumping here. I started modestly with 1/6 Bowen pieces I still love them to this day. You get bang for your buck and way more characters to choose from.

Most of these collectors list "grails" only because of demand , sure they are well done but theseare not investments you will lose if you're not smart. These are great brands
