Gladiator @ $250 is tough. Currently on the fence on both these pieces.

I'm also curious about psylocke?
Wasn't she completed before these 2 & she still hasn't been placed on order.

havok is only going to have 800 made thats why the higher price

Even so prices have still gone up considerably. For example Mr. Sinister was the same price, had an ES of 750 and was a MUCH more complex piece.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Yeah, WHATEVER!!!! Are we really supposed to believe that the price for Gladiator is TOO LATE to change?!?! Like it can't be changed? Like Previews doesn't constantly update statue prices that change? And what's with the low run #'s and jacked prices!? I'm telling ya, you keep giving it every penny and tell them you will overpay....then this is what happens. Havok should be $160.00 and a 1,000 run at least jeez!
As bad as I want it, I'll just get it later. Holding out from now on.

If you need some real answers why not just PM Randy about this but I think he knows how to run his business better than us. We all know that 2nd & 3rd string characters don't sell well not matter what delusions we may think. Now that Bowen is producing more obscure characters there will be invariably smaller runs and smaller runs = higher prices.

Take for example museum Thor and the Silver Surfer both are very similar to Gladiator & Havok but unlike the obscure characters they have runs of 3,000 and 3,500 respectively and the price for these are much lower than Havok and Gladiator. Randy's intention is to keep these pieces rare and valuable. I have no illusions that Havok or Glads will move 3,000 copies and I understand why Randy did what he did. Having a sculpt with a very low ES is all the more sweeter than having 1 of 4,000.

True but rare pieces are hardly ever cheaper on ebay.

It's not implausible that 1000 each of these could be sold. But I find the "mistake price tag" strange and something that could easily be sorted since this is probably a year away from shipping.

I think these edition sizes are a result of the economy. Look how many jean Greys, quicksilvers, medusas, marvel girls, and Black queens were created and what they are selling for on Ebay. Sellers are eating losses as they sell for so cheap. Lowering the edition sizes will keep sellers from having to sell so low. Terrax is another example of the newer lower edition sizes and it's price is holding up. Now the Hulks will probably go for less than MSRP due to the higher edition size. JMHO.

BTW, I ordered Havok from BD. I think it easily could have sold 1000 but I don't see this one going for much less than the $160 you can get it from Bowen with the discount. Might be able to snag it for a little less. Havok is still a somewhat popular character which will keep demand reasonable.

Why would a statue company be worried about resale values?

If they were worried about values they wouldn't be producing so many Ironmans, Wolverines, Hulks and Captain Americas so close to each other.

I can understand low ES on obscure characters. Besides BD normally do not reveal edition sizes and people only find out when a fellow collector has received theirs.

Because if the e-sellers are selling their items so low, they will begin dropping their order quantities. Bowen doesn't want to pi$$ them off.
