Yamato and Weiho
The following was posted by Yamato on their Facebook profile. A nice story I thought I should share.
Many years ago, an unknown artist was a Loyal client of Yamato USA. One day, he spoke up and told Yamato’s Sales manager in the Parking lot after his order was loaded up. “Well, I am an artist myself, would you mind taking a look at my art works”?
The manager thought he was just one of million “”artist wanna be s!”” But said to him “Why not”. At his first glance, he said to the artist” Dïd you create these characters or you just recreated based on someone else’s characters?”” He said “No, they were all 100 % my own !” The manager said “These are great! What would you like to do with these works of art?” The artist responded to him “Well Optimally, I would like to realize these in 3 D figures”!
The very first character later became “Lady Dragon” and now the world renowned fantasy artist’s name is Weiho !
The most beautiful success story ever told and now you can follow in the footsteps of becoming one. Serious inquiry only, looking for someone with many years of experience, who is skilled, fast and dependable. Any questions please leave me an inbox.

Very cool. Supporting a new artist makes me want to focus on Yamato more. I would assume Weiho would continue with his lines and a new artist would develop another.

Thanks guys for posting that. Seems like forever since I got a lucky break when Yamato decided to take a chance on a complete unknown.
It took awhile as I sat on my Lady Dragon prototype for almost two years before Yamato decided to give it a shot on production.
And I really owe Erick Sosa a lot as he actually called me and gave me some pointers and advice on making statues. I was beside myself after that phone call. Imagine Erick Sosa talking to a newbie like me! That kind of stuff doesn't happen often.
I'm just having fun here guys, I love what I'm doing now, especially with the freedom to create.
Thanks, -Wei

what were you loading up in the parking lot? sounds to me like a whole bunch of statues being crammed into a sedan on the way to get sold somewhere. don't know why but that's the picture my mind brought up.

If your work so far if the product of failure, then I'm speechless. Best simulation of success I've yet seen.

Haha. I'm an online retailer, selling statues and stuff. I've been doing that on the side for many years already. That way I can forgo the regular 9 to 5 and have much more time doing what I want, like making statues.
