Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Slaughter of the Vampires (1962) - 5/10 - Italian. Not bad. Some pretty great archetypal vampire imagery. Kind of the vampire movie that would be on in the background of a movie where victims are watching a vampire movie before they're attacked by vampires. The opening vampire' kill is worth the watch. If you're a vampire freak like I am, might be worth a search for.

Vampire Circus (1972) 8/10 - An excellent, late Hammer film & entry into the Non-Dracula, Vampire series they worked on. This one started off w/ a bang, slowed down a little towards a third in, then picked up for a Vampire-extravaganza finish. Basically, a Count-Vampire is killed in the beginning & curses the villagers who've done it. Their town suffers w/ a plague after, & is cut-off from the outside world for 15 years. A circus somehow makes it into town that's secretly the Count's revenge maker & villagers & their children are craftily set-upon by the Count's vampire relatives. Some beautiful Hammer Studios nightscapes, some great vampire make-up, hot Hammer women, & gory fun vampire action. A great stand-alone Hammer movie.

Another Hammer Horror film to add to my watch list. So many of these are just so damn hard to find though. Never understood why they don't get more attention.

You're right, they are hard to find, but I figure you may be able to find them on-line. I'm sorry to tease/tempt true lovers of the old-school Hammer & Amicus style films, but I just want people to be aware that these great movies are out there. I go to a convention called Nostalgia-Con every late summer & load up on cheap dvd copies of these chestnuts to watch throughout the year, especially in October. If you have access to reasonably priced cons where there may be dealers of old horror & sci-fi, that'll be your best chance. Amazon sometimes offers the old Hammer & Amicus stuff for very reasonable prices too. I'm a collector, so I don't mind buying them. I'm looking for a reasonable priced copy of Twins of Evil next.
