Gary Gygax creator of Dungeons and Dragons dead at 69

Sad news. Apparently, he rolled a 1 on his fortitude check. So many hours of my youth in the 70's was spent playing this game. It really shaped my imagination and I have always loved SciFi and Fantasy because of my exposure to this, Star Wars, and Superman the Movie. Very sad day for geeks everywhere. Although I haven't played in years, I still honestly miss playing.

Rest in Peace, Gary.

I just used this very line (among others) in an article I wrote this afternoon about this.

Very sad news, though. The gaming world will miss their favorite whipping boy. Not that Gary himself made it easy to support him. Sigh.

Yep, we played on a card table in the basement, going all night on Pizza, Oreos, and Dr. Pepper. Good times from 25 years ago. I still have all of my PC sheets and manuals!

Rest in peace, Gary.
